Contemporary educational approaches, especially those informed by the learning sciences, almost all pursue twin goals of uncertain compatibility. One goal is to insure students’ grasp of important ideas. The other is to help them develop as autonomous learners and thinkers. Some approaches may be biased toward the first goal, others toward the second, but generally there is a tension, which may be alleviated by compromise, wishful thinking, or other more adventurous approaches.

IATEFL POLAND COMPUTER SIG JOURNAL - Articles
http://iatefl.org.pl/call/j_article25.htm
This article briefly introduces the peer-to-peer (P2P) concept and applies it to an educational context. It argues that a pedagogical approach based on P2P can support learning ecologies that both complement and transcend conventional classroom structures and practices, ultimately benefiting learners.

Journal
http://www.complexityandeducation.ualberta.ca/journal.htm
Complicity: An International Journal of Complexity and Education is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes original articles on all aspects of education which are informed by the idea of complexity. It is currently the only journal in existence to focus specifically on the implications of complexity (in its technical, applied, philosophical, theoretical, or narrative manifestations) for education and educational research. The journal strives to serve as a forum for both theoretical and practical contributions to this comparatively recent field of educational research and to facilitate the exchange of diverse ideas and points of view related to complexity in education.

Sidorkin The Pedagogy of The Interhuman
http://www.ed.uiuc.edu/EPS/PES-Yearbook/95_docs/sidorkin.html
This strikes me as a metaphor describing an educational institution. We as people, and each of us individually, love our children and see that something should be done to help their lives to flourish. But all we do is create “schemes and steps” instead of relating to the children directly. The direct relations can fulfill our wish to help children without distortions that “schemes and steps” bring. Should educational change be all about implementing policies, devising curriculum, and introducing programs?

Pedagogical Patterns
http://csis.pace.edu/~bergin/PedPat1.3.html
The following fourteen patterns form the beginning approaches to a pattern language for Computer Science course development. They might have application to other fields as well. The patterns are not all at the same level of scale. Some speak to the overall course organization and some to very low level things. The general flow is from large structure (semester courses) to small scale (daily activities). A long term goal is to develop them into a proper language. This will require supplementing them with others as well.

CITE Journal - General
http://www.citejournal.org/vol9/iss1/general/article1.cfm
The TPACK framework for teacher knowledge is described in detail, as a complex interaction among three bodies of knowledge: Content, pedagogy, and technology. The interaction of these bodies of knowledge, both theoretically and in practice, produces the types of flexible knowledge needed to successfully integrate technology use into teaching.
